House Rules....We all have them!

House Rules....We all have them!

Postby NMI » Wed Oct 28, 2015 11:51 am

I am going to list these as I think of them. I will update just the first post.

Extraordinary, Superhuman and Supernatural P.S.
I have no problem with Supernatural PS as it is written. No change.
However, EO and SH PS weird me out. Why? Because a person with normal PS of 20, does the exact same damage as someone with EO PS 20 and SH PS 20. How have I fixed this? Simple.

Extraordinary PS: Add +1 die to any melee based damage roll [punches, kicks, sword, etc..]. Die type is based on the base dice being used for that attack. A normal punch that is normally 1D4, now becomes 2D4. A Kick that does 2D6, now does 3D6. A roundhouse kick normally is 1D10, now it is 2D10.

Superhuman PS: Follows a similar pattern except it adds +2 dice to the roll.

I have a major power I really like, Animal metamorphosis. However with most animals in the Palladium Fantasy book not having stats I see problems that could come up, namely PS, PP, PE, and SPD. Like if a Gorilla tried to lift something or a Rhino tried to push or pull something. Is this something that you could naturally work around? The other question. If this power were taken, would it (I presume) be limited to animals of Earth's present and past? It says under the power that it can also include creatures from Rifts but I can see how that could cause problems. Last GM to let me use this power gave me 1 pick from Rifts that I could also change into. Which gave it a little bit of a super form, the character could take on.

I would probably limit you to animals of Earth's past and present.

How could you metamorph into something you haven't seen before?
As for stat's of animals - if it doesn't exist already in a Palladium product, I would just wing it. Monsters & Animals has plenty of normal animals - After the Bomb 2nd ed as well. HU Games Masters Guide too.

Winging it is a good answer.

Well it doesn't say earth past and present, just any animal, but I can go with that if I go with that power.

How could you think you could metaphorph into an animal you've never seen or heard of?

The rules can't and don't encompass every possible situation.

Would being able to run at 350 mph allow one to run up and down walls like a certain orange televised streak? Or run across water?

If the answers are yes then I have my power pitch ready.
