Extraordinary physical strength

Postby Sittingbull » Wed Oct 28, 2015 8:59 pm

Does anyone else ever think they got the bonuses to PS backwards?

Instead of "Increase PS to 20+2d6 (is PS is higher than 20 already then add 2d6+6)" it seems, to me, to make more sense as "+2d6+6 to PS (is PS is still under 20 then increase PS to 20 and add 2d6)".

I have never thought it was backwards. Take into consideration the way you are supposed to roll your stats. If you just take 3d6 down the board, you only have a little less than 2.8% chance of rolling an extraordinary attribute.

When you look at it that way, giving you a 20+2d6 is quite generous to me.

If we do it your way...3d6 +2d6+6... you end up with an average roll of 23-24.
The average of EX-PS is 27.

Lost me. Just seems weird to get a larger bonus when your PS is already above the extra PS minimum.

Odds are, that most people will have, prior to skills or powers, a rolled PS of less than 20.

With EO PS, you are gauranteed to have a min PS of 20+2D6. However, So effectively, if you had a PS of 15, you are getting a 2D6+5. PS of 9? Now you just got a 2D6+11.

if you got lucky on your initial attribute roll and got a PS of 20+, then you are definitely only getting a +2D6+6.
